"Online Dating Dangers" Video

For my first source I found a video that relates to my topic about the dangers of online dating. The video was originally in an ABC news broadcast. It discusses about how just about anyone can go online and date. What the people don't realize is who they're actually speaking to. Online dating sites are very dangerous because just about anyone can pretend to be someone they are not. For example in the video they show a girl who met a guy on eharmony.com.It happened to be that the person she met online wasn't real and was a sex offender. This is just one of the many dangers that can occur due to online dating. The video also discusses about some solutions to make online dating more reliable. But can they still be trusted after all?

In the Collegiate Times, Sean Simons, columnist and student from Virgina Tech discussed his experience from avoiding Facebook because he felt the Internet was taking over his close interaction among his friends. Sean argues that advanced technology is decreasing the ability for people to think and learn by themselves and people communicate through internet sources instead of physical contact. He questions where the Internet is leading up to for the future and the falling out of communication. Sean admits that technology is changing but people are blind sided because they believe technology makes them better.
